Iraqi Camouflaged Helmet with Unit Insignia

Post by nkomo on Tue Dec 07, 2010 5:34 am

Ok....this one has remained a mystery for years. This was a surplus shop find at Ft. Knox in 1991. I have only seen one other of these helmets ever. The other one was sold on Ebay many years ago with a Republican Guard General's uniform grouping. Has anyone ever seen this helmet before or know what the unit marking is on the front?

    Hi Arch.

Sorry I can't help with the ID of this lid,but I hope you do,as there's nothing more annoying, than having a unidentified piece in your collection....hope you get some positive ID on this one...very nice lid BTW, thanks for showing this one Wink

I found a picture of Iraq-Iran conflict. The Iraqi soldier is wearing what appeared to be a helmet in similar colour of your helmet however no camouflage pattern but just green helmet with tan circles on front on sides with black in then (unit marking?).
